Join us for music, dancing, street games and activities; and a selection of our La Tiendita products for sale. The Block Party for Community Health & Wellness will host an array of community health partners who will share valuable resources and information.WHYThis year’s Walk-A-Thon will support the Center for Wellbeing & Happiness, our newest initiative which provides free, wrap-around wellness services to all genders and all generations in the Lower East Side. Mentor a girl at one of our half-day “Space Boot” Camps and then join a team to develop a world-changing Space App at our Girls & Women Hack-a-thon Weekend! WALK-A-THON A fun parade winding through the parks and streets of the East Village and ending at an "old school" Girls Club-style block party, where we'll be dancing to the beats of the Girls Club’s own Avenue DJs. The Health & Wellness Fair and Block Party will host an array of community health providers and organizations, street games and participatory activities, healthy food for purchase, and our Fair Trade & Girl Made products for sale. Teams gather outside the Lower Eastside Girls Club at 10:30 AM to register for the walk. At 11:15 AM, the Brooklyn Express Drumline Marching Band will kick-off the Walk-A-Thon with their energetic rhythms and beats.HOW IT WORKS Sign up your team or become a team captain at girlsclub.org/walkathon Gather 10 or more people to form a team.
