August 25, 2015
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Morgan Stanley Wealth Management today announced the release of its latest issue of Perspectives in Philanthropy, Vol. 13, “The Advancement of Women and Girls,” a journal that features individuals and nonprofit organizations dedicated to elevating and empowering women and girls around the world.
The organizations and individuals highlighted in this issue are engaging in transformational work designed to help women and girls reach their full potential.
According to Melanie Schnoll Begun, Managing Director and Head of Philanthropy Management at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, “Women and girls − who are vital members of our families, communities, and workplaces − have the power to ignite significant change in this world when afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential.
For example, the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC) of Manhattan was created by a group of women who discerned a need for a safe place for girls to play and learn after school, so they took decisive action to make that happen. Now, the LESGC has over 1,000 active members and provides an impressive array of services including a planetarium show, college and career prep, environmental education, digital and audio arts programming, and mentoring.”
