The Lower Eastside Girls Club is entrepreneurial! It is our goal to consistently raise 20% of our operating budget through income generating projects.

Celebrate Cafe at the Bowery Poetry Club @ 308 Bowery (1st Street) serves up locally sourced and organic foods and snacks on Mondays from 5pm-11pm and Tuesdays-Sundays from 11am-11pm. Want to know more? Download our Cafe FAQs here.

La Tiendita (The Little Store) @ 56 East 1st Street features Fair Trade and Girl-Made items from around the world and right here on the Lower East Side. We are currently featuring items from Ghar Sita Mutu, which raises funds for a home for abandoned children in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Visit La Tiendita online and at The Essex Street Market @ Essex Street and Delancey, where we have a partnership with Breezy Hill Orchards' Fresco del Rancho, Tuesday-Saturday from 9-6.

Our Sweet Things Bake Shop (and business skills training program) at 136 Avenue C offers delicious and beautifully packaged baked goods perfect for holidays, special days or any day. The Bake Shop is open to the public on Saturdays, and is also used as a training and production site.  TO ORDER: We are always adding new products and sweets to our line so check our Sweet Things online store or contact us for the most up to date catalog of goods (and goodies!)

WHY BUY FROM SWEET THINGS?
When you buy from The Lower Eastside Girls Club you are doing more than consuming a cookie. Your purchase supports programs that teach inner-city girls culinary arts and business skills. Girls in the Sweet Things Company also participate in educational support and leadership training programs.
