1st Annual Lower Eastside Girls Club Walk-a-thon
Walk for Girls' and Women's Health
May 16, 2009
The Walk-a-thon will take place on Saturday May 16, 2009 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., in lower Manhattan, and will end with a finish line celebration at the Girls Club. We expect over 1000 professional women ages 18-45 to join us in supporting this cause.
The event will help raise much-needed funds to support Lower Eastside Girls Club health and nutrition programs for low-income girls and young women. Each $2,500 raised supports a full year of programming for one girl; $1,500 supports school year programming; and $1,000 supports summer programming.
EVENT SPONSORS will be listed on all printed materials, registration forms, press releases, web pages, t-shirts, event banners, and programs.

Founded in 1996, the Lower Eastside Girls Club is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to providing a place where economically disadvantaged girls and young women ages 8-23 can grow, learn, have fun, and develop confidence in themselves and their ability to make a difference in the world. By delivering strong and innovative arts, athletic, cultural, life skills and career-oriented programming, we provide girls with the vision to plan—and the tools to build—their future.
