Pyeng Bio

2nd and 4th Saturdays hosted by Pyeng Threadgill

Pyeng

Pyeng Threadgill is a name that's hard to forget and an artist who is refreshing the Indie/Jazz scene. Pyeng is a vocalist/composer and 2008 fellow from New York Foundation for The Arts in music composition. Her debut album Sweet Home The Music of Robert Johnson released in 2004 with a great uproar in the Indie and Blues scene, paving a way for her next release Of The Air (also the meaning of her name).

Pyeng Threadgill’s upcoming release for the fall "Portholes To A Love & Other Short Stories" was conceived and based upon her love of short stories. These days in addition to carving out time to write new compositions, Pyeng is developing her own curriculum for teaching elementary school music with a refreshed outlook on city life and the world at large. She is thrilled to be curating both the “Tea at 3: Emerging Artist” Series & “See Ya at 3” Family Day Series because sharing and discovering new artists is one of her MANY passions. Pyeng Threadgill lives in Brooklyn with her 4 and half year old daughter Luna and her husband Nikolai.
