Art+Community is one of several social venture programs run by the Girls Club, the others being our Sweet Things Bake Shop, Essex Market Booth and La Tiendita: Fair Trade and Girl Made Cafe & Giftshop. All four programs provide job training and jobs for low-income girls and women living in Lower Manhattan. |

| 02/14/2009 | - | Chiapas Tour February 14th – 24th GIRLS CLUB TOUR – MAYA, RIVER and CARNAVAL You are cordially invited to join the Lower Eastside Girls Club and our friends in Chiapas, Mexico for a guided tour of Chiapas. The tour will include the jungle, rivers, waterfalls, ancient ruins, living Maya villages and public fiestas. Special attention will be paid to the Usumacinta river and Lacandon rainforest. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Club Balam, our sister Girls Club in San Cristobal de las Casas.
